Schools and Education

Allston-Brighton has some of Boston’s finest public schools with diverse student populations, and at the same time some schools face declining enrollments and associated struggles. The strength of our schools impacts our ability to attract and retain families; first-class schools are essential to the resilience and stability of our neighborhood. Allston-Brighton children are Boston’s future, and we have a duty to ensure that every child has access to a quality education that prepares them to succeed in the 21st century economy and be productive, engaged members of our society.

As your city councilor, Liz Breadon will be a tireless advocate for improvements in all Boston Public Schools, enabling our students to achieve their full potential. She supports universal pre-K for all Boston Public School students. The determinants of success will depend on the resources and the diverse community that support and nurture our children. Liz also supports investment in after-school programs, art, and music classes. Preparing our young people for an evolving 21st century economy and workplace demands access to STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) programs and state-of-the-art vocational education, among other educational techniques and curriculum.
